January 17, 2025 open
[The owner, Mr. Jeon, who has worked on a number of unique and popular Korean restaurants, including Pinyo Shokudo, has opened a new restaurant. The old house that appears at the end of the alley looks like a bar in a Korean downtown.
This restaurant was inspired by the Korean culture of "kamek," where one can enjoy a drink with a side dish in a corner of a supermarket," Jeon says. A kamek is like a corner bar in Japan. The food menu is positioned as a snack, and it is a place to enjoy drinks. Korean ramen is also on the menu as a side dish, rather than as a post-drink end to the meal.
The signature dish, half fried chicken wings, is prepared in the restaurant's original style with lots of garlic and back fat, and the Earl Grey highball, which is gaining popularity in Korea, has been introduced in various places, a trend that is sure to catch on. The restaurant is located in a quiet and secluded part of town, making it perfect for those who want to sneak in for a midday drink.
The garlic and fatty back fat fried chicken (1,700 yen) is cooked at a low temperature and fried until crispy, adding the delicious taste of fatty back fat and calories to the dish. The Earl Grey highball (600 yen), which is often refilled, has a refreshing black tea flavor and is easy to drink, making it a perfect match for meat dishes.
Chapaghetti, a Korean-style jarred noodle dish popular as Korea's national dish, is 800 yen. Recommended to eat with the accompanying takuan and onions.
