A new sake blending facility near Karasuma Oike...
December 13, 2024 open
RENARD BLEU is a French restaurant that was established in 2007 in the Karasuma area, moved to Kita-ku, and then returned to the city. The name of the restaurant, which means "blue fox," was named after a children's story that Mr. and Mrs. Taniguchi, the owner, love. When you open the bright red door, you are greeted by shelves lined with picture books, and the bright atmosphere of the restaurant, even though it is located in the basement, will make you feel at home.
I am happy to hear that the regulars from the first restaurant are happy that it is now easier to come by," says owner Naoshi Taniguchi (photo left), who has more than 30 years of experience as a French chef.
The dish of the day is a fresh pasta with shrimp and broccoli in a tomato cream sauce from the set meal set (2,200 yen). The pasta is a perfect match for the chewy noodles and the tasty sauce with shrimp broth. Choice of two types of pasta.
Small seasonal soups and green salads with local vegetables. The mushroom potage pictured is made with French mushrooms that have been prepped for flavor and a rich texture!
The lunch set that includes pasta, which was started in response to customer requests, is surprisingly priced at a reasonable 2,200 yen. Veteran chef's authentic dishes such as herb roti of young chicken and roasted lobster are also offered a la carte in the evening.
Taniguchi-san's favorite contemporary art works displayed on the walls are also for sale, so those who are interested are welcome to visit.
