The owners of SUMIYA PINN, a popular bar in Karasuma Oike, have opened a U-shaped counter bar, which they have longed to open. As the name suggests, the bar boasts a wide range of alcoholic beverages, with more than 60 varieties of wine, from naturals to classics, as well as rare brands of sake and shochu on standby.
The dishes are, of course, all suitable for alcoholic beverages. The restaurant makes active use of lamb in its famous grilled lamb thigh and hummus, the herb-filled lamb harira soup, a Moroccan dish, and merguez spring rolls with lamb sausage. The restaurant offers creative dishes that skillfully utilize herbs and spices while incorporating Middle Eastern, Asian, and Western tastes.
Mackerel Smoked and Mackerel Potato Salad 680 yen. The potato salad is also filled with mackerel and goes well with sake and white wine, making it a great drink. Setouchi domestic lemon chu-hi with the whole lemon peel for 750 yen is a popular drink with a gentle sour taste that goes down your throat and can be enjoyed with any food.
Grilled lamb thigh and hummus, 1,530 yen. It is made with homemade mojo picon sauce used in Spanish cuisine and is richly flavored with cumin and other spices. It is recommended to eat it as a kebab sandwich between two pieces of pita bread for 330 yen. Wine by the glass starts at 850 yen. A full lineup of red wines that are as flavorful as the spices!
Many of the dishes are in small portions, making them perfect for drinking alone. It is common for customers to hit it off with each other around the counter. There is also a standing drinking zone, so it is easy to use for a light lunchtime drink.
