Near Yase Cable Station, on the way to Ruriko-in Temple, one of the most famous places for viewing autumn leaves in Yase, Kyoto, there is another favorite spot for viewing autumn leaves, Yase Maple Viewing Path. This is a hidden spot where you can enjoy the autumn leaves in their natural seasonal beauty, not to mention in the fall.
Along the 300-meter-long path are towering trees with autumn foliage, creating a world of autumn colors overhead and in front of you as you stroll along the path. At the top of the path is the "Pagoda to Commemorate the 1,000th Anniversary of the Transfer of the Capital to Kyoto," where visitors can also learn about Kyoto's history.
The well-maintained site of approximately 3,700m² is open to the public free of charge, and visitors can enjoy viewing the autumn foliage at their leisure.
