[SONGBIRD COFFEE on the east side of Nijo Castle.
September 4, 2024 open
Moment coffee kyoto (Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture), a café with an eye-catching, cute exterior, has opened just a 6-minute walk from Hankyu Omiya Station. In addition to the owner's love of Kyoto, the similarities between the streets of Seoul, Korea, and those of Kyoto led him to open the cafe in Kyoto rather than in Tokyo.
Montria Cake is named after Victoria Cake, a traditional English pastry, and the Korean word "mon-chan" (meaning "dog" in Japanese). The cake is topped with a dog-shaped anglaise buttercream, making it a visually appealing dish. The shop also offers a wide variety of other menu items not available at the main store, such as morning plates and yakisupan sets.
The inside of the store also has a wonderful atmosphere with carefully selected furniture and items, and hand-drawn illustrations by the owner. The store's mascot character, "Mr. Bread," is also featured on cups, paper napkins, and other items. The shop is also planning to sell goods.
The store has a bicycle parking lot because "many people in Kyoto ride bicycles," and pets are allowed in the store, which is a thoughtful gesture. Take a breather in a space filled with cuteness everywhere.
