Yamamoto Menzo is a popular udon store in Okazaki that no udon lover should miss.

The owner, Katsuyuki Yamamoto, is a volleyball player turned udon chef. After training as an udon chef in various locations, he renovated his grandmother's house and opened the restaurant in 2006. Yamamoto's grandmother also ran an udon store at the same location 50 years ago.

Yamamoto Menzo Kitsune Udon

Popular menu item, large fried bean curd soaked in broth, excellent kitsune udon 950 yen.

The noodles are characterized by good elasticity and smoothness, and you can taste the firmness of udon noodles while they are smooth. The most popular menu items are the kitsune udon and the meat miso udon, in which spicy meat miso accents the flavor of the broth. Both are characterized by their thin noodles and smooth texture. The perfect balance between the resilience of the noodles and the strong flavor of the broth makes for an appetizing dish.
