Enjoy the traditional taste of Nishijin's pickles at Kintame, a pickles specialty store

Founded in 1879, Chikatame is a pickles specialty store located in Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. The shop has long been loved by locals for its carefully selected seasonal fresh domestic vegetables, which are pickled by hand to bring out the best of the ingredients.

[At the Kyoto Main Restaurant, such traditional pickles are served as ochazuke kaiseki (tea-ceremony dishes) for lunch. The menu includes an assortment of pickles and a set of fish that has been marinated in sake lees made from matured Nara-zuke pickles and slowly grilled to a rich aroma.
