Sasha" is already a hot spot near Nijo Station....
April 6, 2024 open
A 14-minute walk from Nijojo-mae Station, Paddy is a baked goods and coffee shop (Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) that can be found at the end of an alley.
I have dreamed of owning my own restaurant since I was a child," says the owner, Mr. Ikuta. He has worked in patisseries, cafes, and other restaurants for about 10 years before opening his dream store.
As soon as you enter the store, you will see a showcase of the owner's special baked goods, such as canelés and seasonal tarts.
The interior designers left the old walls as they were and tried to create a relaxing space that utilizes the best of the past and the present.
We ordered a seasonal tart and the owner's recommended canele. When I opened the candle-shaped wrapper, a large-sized canele appeared. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, they are so exquisitely baked that you can't help but want another one.
The café latte I ordered with my order was not too thick, but rich and had an excellent balance of coffee and milk.
They are also planning to offer gifts and local shipping. Don't forget to check out the baked goods as souvenirs on your way home!
In July and August, the restaurant will also start offering mornings on Sundays only; check the restaurant's Instagram for plans starting in September.
