The restaurant was opened with the idea of "offering a casual taste of Kyoto's kawadoko experience," and during the summer season from May 1 to October 15, customers can experience kawadoko, a summer tradition in Kyoto, without paying for a seat. Since you can order just a drink and an entrée, you can experience kawadoko for as little as 1,000 yen, making it the perfect place for a kawadoko debut. Three types of all-you-can-drink courses are available, perfect for parties and banquets.

The owner, Mr. Kida, also runs a construction company, so the Western-style building has Japanese architectural techniques sprinkled throughout. The interior walls are plastered by hand by a plasterer, and the exterior walls are covered with tiles made from the scraps of the Sun Building, which attracted attention at the 1970 Osaka World's Fair.
