Lamaglama (Fushimi-ku, Kyoto), located in a residential area of Fushimi, Kyoto, is a sister restaurant of LovA, which serves tempura and seasonal cuisine in Uji. The chic mortar counter blends in with the space of the 100-year-old old house, creating the atmosphere of a grown-up's hideout.
The owner, Mr. Ogita, creates original dishes that are based on Japanese cuisine but not limited to it. His motto is to make the best use of quality, fresh ingredients from the neighborhood, such as vegetables from contract farms in Ujitawara and Joyo, and wild game from hunters in Ide-machi.
Ujidawara Watercress Salad with Raw Ham and Parmigiano Cheese 980 yen is the owner's favorite menu item. The owner's homemade carrot dressing enhances the refreshing spiciness of the watercress and harmonizes the salad's diverse ingredients.
Rare gibier meats such as badger and hakubishin as well as deer and wild boar are also available. Beef, chicken, and pork are also available, and can be grilled over charcoal or sukiyaki style, depending on the type of meat.
Braised Iwate beef cheek with aromatic vegetables in white wine: 2,450 yen. Only salt is used for seasoning so that customers can enjoy the direct taste of the ingredients. The meat and vegetables are simmered to perfection, giving the dish a relaxing meaty flavor.
In addition to natural wines and whiskeys, mainly from France, the restaurant offers a wide variety of non-alcoholic drinks.
