Hotel Okura Kyoto celebrated its 135th anniversary in business in October 2023 with the appointment of Kei Hayasaki, a highly respected executive chef, as chef de cuisine. With an extensive menu ranging from popular café sweets and French toast to Western-style hotel delicacies such as fried prawns and Wagyu beef hamburger steak, the restaurant is loved by local customers day and night. Facing Kawaramachi-dori, the interior of the restaurant, bathed in sunlight, is a calm and stylish space. The shop always has about 10 kinds of cakes available for takeout, including traditional apple pie and cream puffs from the forest, which are also appreciated as souvenirs.
