A nighttime café/bar that should be a treasured place to eat has appeared on the top floor of a building that houses a popular beer bar [Hanjishita], a 6-minute walk from Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station. The interior has a mature atmosphere with subdued lighting. You will be proud to know about it.
The salted milk olive oil ice cream, the most ordered item, has a perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness and goes well with both alcoholic beverages and coffee. The baked pastries are also a must-try, with the rum-infused canelé being crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Coffee cocktails are available for those who like alcoholic beverages, and non-alcoholic drinks such as coffee mocktails are also available for those who cannot drink.
Clockwise from front: homemade ice cream with salted milk olive oil, 660 yen; UFO Coffee Booze Deep Roasted Rock, a combination of coffee and brown sugar shochu, 990 yen; Cafe Latte, 660 yen; Canulé, 440 yen.
You can sit at the counter and enjoy conversation with the waitstaff, or there are seats for two, so you can relax and chat in the evening. On weekends, reservations through Instagram are recommended.
