Handmade bread filled with gentlenessLocated in a residential area near JR Uji Station, this bakery is housed in a renovated old private house. The owner, Makiko Haneda, is an experienced baker who has set up the bakery of her dreams, and is now carrying on the tradition of sakekasu yeast.
About 10 kinds of breads are hand-kneaded one by one. The breads are made with natural yeast made from sake lees from Terada Honke, a long-established sake brewery in Chiba that has been using the yeast for about 15 years, and have a rich aroma and a subtle cheese-like flavor.
The ingredients are only vegetable-based and organic, and the use of spelt wheat, an ancient wheat with low gluten content, makes it healthier for the body.
Eat-in is also available in a comfortable space furnished with Japanese antique furniture.
