The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building along the Biwako Sosui Canal. Upon opening the door, you will find a stylish space with a concrete wall and a warm wooden counter. Chef Shizuo Miyamoto opened the Chinese restaurant Shizuka in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, in 1983.
Owner Chef Shizuo Miyamoto
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture. After closing Seihua in Hamamatsu City, he went to Beijing to study. After returning to Japan, he fell in love with the streets of Kyoto, which are similar to those of Beijing, and opened Kyo, Jing Hua in 2013.
In 2008, the restaurant was re-launched in Kyoto as Kyo, Shizuka, and in 2019, the interior was redesigned with only counter seating so that guests can directly feel the restaurant's response. The restaurant's creative and beautiful course meals, consisting of about 10 dishes from appetizers to desserts, are enjoyed by guests.

Mr. Miyamoto says he has always been conscious of expressing the history and traditions of Chinese cuisine while successfully combining Japanese ingredients. Chinese cuisine is changing day by day as it receives various stimuli, and there is nothing that is absolutely certain," he says.
