[2022] 25 Autumn Leaves Illuminations in Kyoto
The second generation of "Muraiwa," a Kitayama forestry company, took over a part of the land that had been settled by the "Haraya Settlement Group" and planted a number of trees. The owner, a flower lover, especially cherishes plum trees, cherry trees, and camellias, and has taken great care of cherry trees by replacing the soil at their roots. The original more than 200 cherry trees have grown old, and now only about 1/3 of the trees remain. The third and fourth generations have continued to plant trees one after another, increasing the number to more than 400 trees of more than 20 varieties. At the same time as the cherry blossoms, the snowy willow, jade gourd, azalea, and mountain bellflower bloom in competition with each other, creating a beautiful scene that is indescribably beautiful. Other trees for viewing are weeping peaches, flowering peaches, and flowering flowering arbors. Currently, the garden is open to the public only during the ume (plum), sakura (cherry), and autumnal foliage seasons.
