A patisserie opened by Katsuhiro Nakano, who has been delighting guests at high-class hotels in Tokyo and Kyoto. ``I think the appeal of Kyoto is that it truly appreciates the work of artisans,'' she says, refining her classic cakes. There are about 10 types of fresh cakes that are made with carefully selected ingredients, such as domestic flour, seasonal fruits, and matcha from Uji.
From the back, Mont Blanc with Japanese chestnuts (640 yen), Rouge with strawberry mousse and vanilla brûlée (600 yen), and Fromage with berry compote (640 yen) are all authentic as well as cute. The cakes are calculated to make your eyes meet when you open the box, so be sure to take one home!
