Pizzeria serving authentic Neapolitan pizza opens in Saiin. Pizzeria Del Popolo a Kyoto" means "everyone's pizzeria" in Italian. The owner, Mr. Kinoshita, who trained in Naples by himself, says, "I was imprinted with Naples (laughs).
After dropping out of college, he went into the restaurant business and fell in love with the depth of pizza at an Italian restaurant, and decided to train in Naples. After studying Italian on his own for a year, he flew to Naples and went directly to Pizzeria Del Popolo, which he found to be the best pizza restaurant in Naples," he says, describing how his tremendous energy drove him to pursue his goals.
After returning to Japan, he decided to open a restaurant in Kyoto, the city that inspired him to pursue a career in food and beverage. After finding the current location, he decided to open Corona Disaster. Mr. Kinoshita has so much respect for his training restaurant that he received permission to name the restaurant the same name as his training restaurant. All of the pizzas on the menu are the same as those served in Naples. In order to create the same taste as in Naples, he uses cheese, flour, cured ham, and other ingredients imported directly from Italy. He continues to make pizzas every day, aiming to be a pizzeria that is loved by the people of the city.
