The owner, Kokoro Hara, chose this location as her new home "because of its location between the Kamo River and the Imperial Palace," and after seeing the last cafe [efish] close its doors in 2019 as its manager, she went to Shanghai, Paris, Morocco, and other places she had longed to visit. In a comfortable space with natural light coming in from both east and west, she warmly welcomes guests with rugs and sundries brought back from her travels and goldfish inherited from efish. The restaurant often attracts a line of customers from the moment it opens because of the reputation of its homemade food, such as the tuna melt sandwich (935 yen) with butter browned on a griddle, today's soup, and bakes from HORNO, which is run by a senior staff member from efish. Take-out is also available, so you can enjoy a picnic around the Kamo River when the weather is nice.
