This summer, go out to the scenic spot [Biwako Hakodateyama] where flowers spread...
If you want to enjoy summer in Shiga, a short trip from Kyoto, we recommend taking a dip in Lake Biwa, introducing the latest lake bathing spots, including spots where you can enjoy BBQ, campgrounds, and hot springs. (TEXT/Koto Sakurai, EDIT/Moe Sawamura)
Lake Biwa, a freshwater lake, is attractive for its non-sticky water quality. After swimming, your body will not feel sticky, and you will feel comfortable and dry. Many bathhouses have showers attached to them, but if it is too much trouble, you can skip the showers.
[Lake Biwa] has calmer waves than the ocean. Although there are small waves caused by the wind, high waves rarely come in suddenly. Families with small children can play in the water and sand in peace, making it ideal for families with small children.
Jellyfish are painful when they sting. In fact, jellyfish are sea creatures and do not live in Lake Biwa. For those who want to swim freely without worrying about jellyfish, lake bathing is the perfect choice.
[Many of the spots around Lake Biwa offer BBQ and camping. In addition to activities such as SUP and water parks, hot springs and tent saunas are also available. Whether you want to spend your time actively or leisurely, you are sure to have a fulfilling time at a lake bath.
