Taneya, a confectioner in Omihachiman, Shiga, that sells Japanese-style confections using seasonal ingredients, will open a new store on the shore of Lake Biwa in Otsu City in the spring of 2025.

The new store is located in the Otsu Lakeside Nagisa Park Civic Plaza, near the Biwako Otsu Prince Hotel. Lago" means "lake" in Italian, and the hope is that many people, both local and foreign, will visit this facility overlooking Lake Biwa.

Along with a store where visitors can enjoy seasonal sweets, a forest is being created to nurture living creatures, valuing the satoyama cycle, and is now a new spot where visitors can become familiar with Lake Biwa and its forests and experience their charms.
