A pizzeria with a spectacular view overlooking the valley of Okueigenji, which turns color in autumn.
The owner, Mr. Hata, was a teacher in Aichi Prefecture, but upon his retirement, he opened an authentic wood-fired oven pizza restaurant in Eigenji. He serves oven-baked pizza using whiskey barrels as firewood in a creative DIY space made by connecting containers.
The pizza dough, made with ultra-soft spring water and whole wheat flour from Nagahama City, is as strong as the ingredients, spreading the taste of wheat on the palate. The bacon, a popular topping, is also homemade. Sakura pork from Mie Prefecture is marinated in herbs and rock salt for more than two weeks, then smoked with cherry chips for a full day. Smoothies made with seasonal fruits are also a specialty.
