Kiyoshi Yamashita (1922-71), who was said to be a “wandering genius painter”, will hold a special exhibition “Kiyoshi Yamashita Exhibition in 100 Years – Grand Recollection of 100 Years” from April 8 (Sat) to June 11, 2023. It is being held at the Sagawa Art Museum until (Sunday).
About 190 works will be on display, including intricate pasted pictures, oil paintings, watercolors, pen drawings, ceramics, and two previously unpublished works from a sketchbook he brought with him on a trip to Europe in 1961. This exhibition looks back on Mr. Yamashita's lifelong creative activities, including his precious childhood pencil drawings of fireworks, which he loved.
