9:30-17:00 (Last admission 16:30)
The Ceramic Museum Gallery, Shiga Prefectural Ceramic Cultural Park
An exhibition by ceramic artist Yoshiko Masumoto will be held at the Shiga Prefectural Ceramic Cultural Park until August 25, 2022.
Masumoto began tea ceremony as an elementary school student, which led him to the ceramic arts, and he has continued his creative activities while traveling around Japan and abroad. This exhibition introduces the works created by Mr. Masumoto during his residency at the Ceramic Cultural Park from 2020 to 2021.
During his stay in Europe, he was fascinated by the blue dyed vessels that covered the walls of a palace in Germany. The centerpiece of this exhibition, completed 10 years later, is a room-wide installation of giant objects with a seabird motif. The audience will be captivated by the finely detailed decorations and the beauty of the vividly shining blue color.
