Iame Interior view

A teahouse in Shijo-Karasuma where you can enjoy Japanese tea and sweets in peace and quiet [居雨/KYO(KYO)].

March 31, 2024 open

KYO AMAHARE (Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto), which opened in 2023, deals in crafts from Tokyo and art that is an extension of those crafts. KYO AMAHARE was opened in a renovated warehouse in the back of the building. [The name and concept of KYO AMAHARE was created by KYO AMAHARE. Taku Tokubuchi, the tea master of Fukuoka's Man yorozu, took this idea into consideration and supervised the space, presentation, hospitality, and menu to make you feel the rain.
Inside the storehouse, a little natural light shines in, creating a relaxing space undisturbed by light or sound. In the center of the table, there is a device that allows you to feel the rain drops as water trickles down, and the ripples of the puddles are soothing.

Iame Sweets

Hakutun Course from 5,500 yen. Original blend of gozu and fromage blanc cheesecake created by Fukuoka's Hoshino Tea Garden. Inside the cake is a layer of Dainagon azuki beans and apricot jelly, sweet and sour and refreshing!

The menu features three courses of Japanese tea and confections selected by Mr. Tokubuchi. The confections are prepared by Tomonari Kombu, the 17th generation of the long-established confectionery store Kombuya Magobei, who is active both in Japan and abroad as a pastry chef. Enjoy the one-of-a-kind collaboration of new confections that transcend the boundaries between Western and Japanese confections and tea carefully brewed in front of you.

Iyuu Tea Leaves
Iame Sweets

Seasonal sencha with a choice of five different tea leaf samples, and flavorful mizore kan with bergamot, elderflower, and lime. The sencha is brewed up to the third infusion, so you can enjoy the change in flavor (confections change depending on the season).

Iame Exterior

A time to savor tea and pastries while waiting for the rain to clear.
