[SENZA X KYOTO (Sakyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) opened in Okazaki, an art district where the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto and the Kyoto Kyocera Museum of Art are located. SENZA X KYOTO (Sakyo-ku, Kyoto), which opened in Okazaki, an area of art where the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto and the Kyoto Kyocera Museum of Art are located, offers Italian dishes made without eggs, dairy products, wheat, or gluten.
The owner, Mr. Shiga, has had a dream for over 20 years to create a restaurant that can be enjoyed by all, vegans and allergy sufferers as well as non-vegans, in a world of diversity. The restaurant's name, SENZA, means "without" in Italian, and it reflects the concept of a restaurant that does not use X (i.e., eggs, dairy products, wheat, gluten, etc.).
Another dream of Mr. Shiga is to create a place to nurture young people involved in the culinary industry. In place of Mr. Shiga, who usually works as sous chef and sommelier at Pizzeria Napoletana Da Yuki, young chefs and sommeliers who want to one day open their own restaurants and hone their culinary skills are working in the kitchen with passion.
The stone oven that baked countless pizzas in the days of Pizzeria Napoletana Da Yuki has been preserved with the goal of one day offering pizza as well. It also serves to enhance the mood of the stylish and cozy space.
