[Morishima Heibei Farm] has been in Joyo for over 300 years. He started cultivating figs under the current direction of Noriaki Morishima, and three years ago he launched KYOTO Fig FACTORY.
``Since figs don't ripen, we harvest them in the morning when they are fully ripe,'' says Morishima. Figs are perishable and difficult to handle when ripe, but in order to bring out their true flavor, we take our time and carefully pick each fig one by one.
Freshly harvested figs and their processed products are sold at the direct sales store until autumn. Enjoy a variety of varieties that have different harvest periods, such as white fig Banane and black fig Violesolies.
