The popular bakery from New York, U.S.A., landed in Kyoto for the first time last summer. About 50 to 60 varieties of bread, including the popular pretzel croissant and other breads only available at the Kyoto Kawaramachi store, are lined up in the store every day.
From left, Sansho Garlic Baguette, a perfect accompaniment to coffee or alcohol, 345 yen. Matcha Black Bean Ciabatta, filled with Kyoto-style ingredients such as Kyoto-grown wheat, matcha green tea, and black beans from Tanba, 302 yen. Ham Cheddar Kujo, a punchy side dish bread with ham, cheddar cheese, and plenty of Kujo leeks, 410 yen.
The spacious eat-in space on the first and second floors is also a delight. The restaurant also offers a special morning and lunch menu, so you can enjoy both eat-in and take-out.
