The owner, Takuo Kato, is a first-class architect. He renovated the 100-year-old house where his grandmother lived and opened a restaurant combining a curry specialty store and a design office in 2021. After living in Shimane for 10 years as an architect, he moved to his hometown of Uji with Naoji, whom he met there.
The restaurant introduces local dishes such as Kolkata curry with fish and shrimp, and a soul food called "roll," which is a pie crust rolled into a roll. The counter chairs are made by Asakura Woodworks and the cedar cushions by Hirayama Daily Necessities, both specially ordered from a local store in Uji. Enjoy a relaxing curry time in this warm space.
