Mr. Nakahara ran a Chinese restaurant with about 60 seats in Fushimi, Kyoto for 15 years from 2005 to 2020, but decided to expand the restaurant in Kitashirakawa because he wanted to create a restaurant where he could spend more time with each customer. It is said that he made it smaller and started anew. Mr. Nakahara's Chinese food, carefully prepared one by one, has gained a reputation for being delicious, and since opening in 2022, the restaurant has become a hot topic in Kyoto.
All of the Chinese dishes served at [Chinese Restaurant Karin] are light and lightly seasoned. Sichuan mapo tofu clay pot stew is a popular dish with a rich flavor of spices and just the right level of spiciness. You can also enjoy Chinese dishes with gentle flavors at reasonable prices, such as gomoku yakisoba with plenty of vegetables and a fluffy soy sauce aroma, and jellyfish aemono made with the highest quality jellyfish.
There is also a private room on the second floor where you can enjoy Chinese cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere, and the restaurant is still busy today with a wide range of customers, including families with children, moms' groups, and local university students.
