2025年4月19日（土）～6月15日（日）の期間、［京都国立博物館］で開催される大阪・関西万博開催記念 特別展『日本、美のるつぼ―異文化交流の軌跡―』で、大人気キャラクターのすみっコぐらしが公式応援キャラクターに就任することが決定した。仏像や名画をイメージしたすみっコたちのぬいぐるみが販売される他、アクリルスタンドが会場限定特設ショップで販売される。また、5月4日（日）には、展覧会に公式応援キャラクター「ねこ」が登場予定。展示作品をイメージした可愛いすみっコたちに癒やされて。
