Sakyo no Matsuri" (organized by the Sakyo Region Related Culture Executive Committee) will be held at HOSTEL NINIROOM (Sakyo-ku, Kyoto) on March 1, 2025 (Saturday).
We want people to feel more familiar with the many traditional events in Sakyo-ku and to have a chance to participate in them! This event was started with this in mind. In addition to the screening of documentary films and talk events focusing on the bearers of traditional events, there will be workshops on traditional techniques, restaurants, and many other events for children and adults to enjoy. This year's video screening and talk event will focus on the Iwakura Shrine Festival, a traditional event in Iwakura, Sakyo Ward. This is a great opportunity to get involved with a traditional event that has been carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation, and to experience the charms associated with the local community.
