The Sasaki Sake Brewery has a history of more than 130 years in Nishijin, Kyoto. Located at the southern end of the Jurakudai (castle-like mansion) built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the brewery is known for its popular brands such as "Jurakudai" and "Nishijin". The Sasaki Sake Brewery will offer a sake brewery tour and sake drinking experience from January 14 (Tuesday) to March 21 (Friday), 2025 (see below for dates).
In addition to guided tours of the sake brewery, which is usually closed to the public, there will also be sake lectures and sake tasting experiences! Experience the fascination of sake brewing with this special plan that is a must-see for sake lovers.

1.Early morning tour of 130 years of sake brewing & 3 kinds of sake recommended by the brewer

Sasaki Sake Brewing

This is a rare opportunity to observe the sake brewing process, which can only be seen during the brewing season, up close and personal with questions to the craftspeople. You will be able to observe the brewers at work and see not only the sake brewing process, but also the bottling, labeling, and other work processes of the day. After the tour, enjoy a comparison of three different types of sake (depending on the season) made using the same underground water from the same vein that Sen no Rikyu is said to have used for the tea ceremony. Sake not for sale may be included.
