The "Gunze Showa Retro Exhibition" is being held at Gunze Hakubutsuen (Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture) until January 27, 2025 (Monday).
［GUNZE Natural History Museum was opened in 1996 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of GUNZE by remodeling a cocoon warehouse that was used in the Taisho era. The exhibition space consists of three storehouses, the "Founding Storehouse," the "Contemporary Storehouse," and the "Future Storehouse," allowing visitors to experience GUNZE's history in chronological order.
The current exhibition at Miraikura focuses on Rinichi Hatano, the fourth president of the company, who was at the helm of the company during the turbulent Showa period, including World War II, and introduces various items and scenes that colored daily life during the Showa period. Unique products of the time (parachutes, nutritional supplements, etc.) will also be exhibited with actual items and photographs. Through the materials and exhibits that tell the story of the era, visitors will be able to experience the history of GUNZE.
