Kei Ikeda, a dyeing artist who expresses the colors and shapes of nature through traditional stencil dyeing and painting using face painting, will hold a solo exhibition at Kobunsha (Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) from December 2 (Mon.) to 21 (Sat.), 2024.
This will be the artist's first solo exhibition in Kyoto, featuring stencil-dyed works and paintings based on the theme of the Scandinavian nature she encountered during her stay in Finland and the familiar nature she has observed in her life in Japan. The venue, Kobunsha, is a gallery café in a renovated Kyoto townhouse, so visitors can enjoy the contrast with the small nature in the tsuboniwa garden. Take a break from everyday life and feel another time of "just being there.
