A special exhibition commemorating the 850th anniversary of the founding of the Jodo sect, "Honen and the Paradise," will be held at the Kyoto National Museum from October 8 (Tue) to December 1 (Sun), 2024. The special exhibition will tour three venues (Tokyo, Kyoto, and Kyushu), with the largest number of exhibits planned for Kyoto, where Honen spent much of his life and where related temples are concentrated. The Kyoto exhibition will feature a large number of national treasures, important cultural properties, and rare masterpieces that will be on display only at the Kyoto venue. One of the best ways to enjoy the exhibition is to visit temples of the Jodo sect in conjunction with the exhibition. Take this opportunity to enjoy a slightly deeper trip to Kyoto.
