The 13th annual "Kyoto Yoshidayama Grand Tea Ceremony" will be held on June 1 (Sat.) and 2 (Sun.), 2024, at Yoshidayama (precincts of Yoshida Shrine), a natural blend of tradition and the present.
The event, organized by Iwa Chabo, a Chinese tea store in Kyoto, will offer a variety of teas from Shizuoka, Mie, Kagoshima, Okinawa, and overseas from Singapore, China, Taiwan, and Korea, all made using different methods. Visitors can taste the different aromas and flavors to find their favorites. In addition to rare tea leaves, sweets and tea utensils will also be on sale.
Seven of the 40 stores will be making their first appearance at this year's event! Many of the stores will have tasting corners (some with fees), where visitors can find the tea that best suits their tastes while enjoying direct conversation with the tea growers.
