Dedication light-up "Blooming" / Heian Jingu Shrine

Friday, October 6, 2023 - Saturday, October 14, 2023

17:30 - 21:00 (last admission at 20:30)
Heian Shrine

Heian Jingu Shrine was built in 1895 to commemorate the 1,100th anniversary of the relocation of the capital to Heian, and was dedicated to the 50th Emperor Kammu, the god of the capital.
The 2023 light-up event will be held to commemorate the Shukka-sho and Kikka-sho GI races, which will be held at Kyoto Racecourse for the first time in three years. As part of measures to enliven not only the Kyoto Racecourse but also Kyoto as a whole, a light-up dedication will be held at Heian Jingu Shrine from October 6 (Fri.) to 14 (Sat.). A colorful light display will be created by lighting up the area for approximately 85 meters from the Eitenmon Gate at the entrance and projection mapping in three separate areas.
