From September 2 (Sat) to December 24 (Sun), 2023, the Raku Museum of Art will hold the exhibition "Teihon Raku Rekishi" to commemorate the museum's 45th anniversary.
The first edition of the book, "Raku Rekiyo," published in 2013, was a comprehensive look at the Raku family's traditions and creativity. In the following 10 years, the latest works by Raku Naairi (15th generation) and Raku Kichizaemon (16th generation) were added to this newly revised edition, covering the marks of each successive generation.
This exhibition will feature a selection of representative Raku bowls from the newly revised edition of "Teppon Raku Rekishi", from Chojiro I to Kichizaemon XVI. Through the exhibition, visitors will be able to experience the deep appeal of Raku ware and its transition.
