House in the Forest Mitsumasa Anno Museum
Yoko Yamamoto's "Platero and Me" and Mitsumasa Anno's "Flowers in the Kyoto Imperial Garden" are being exhibited simultaneously at the Anno Koga Kan, a house in the forest, until September 4, 2023 (Monday).
Platero and I" is a collection of prose poems written by Spanish poet Juan Ramon Jimenez, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature. Copperplate artist Mr. Yamamoto has created a nostalgic world of Platero the donkey and the poet in warm orange.
In "Flowers in the Kyoto Imperial Gardens," 26 paintings created by Yasuno when he was 93 years old will be on view. Enjoy his watercolor paintings of flowers and grasses quietly blooming in the Kyoto Imperial Gardens, their beauty forever preserved.
