In recent years, the name "skin tone" has disappeared from the list of colored pencil types. This is because we have become aware that the color of our skin differs from person to person and cannot be uniformly defined as "skin tone.
This exhibition looks at the representation of skin in advertising posters, focusing on Japanese and French posters from the end of the 19th century to the first half of the 20th century. Posters, which are created by printing ink on paper, used a limited number of colors to express human skin. The posters are a combination of technical ingenuity and a message to be conveyed.
At the same time, it is also a reflection of our desire to be. Review again the many meanings given to our skin and how they are expressed in the poster.
