An exhibition of the Manga Grand Prize-winning work "Dai Otsu Yome Narrative" is currently being held at the Kyoto International Manga Museum until December 26, 2022 (Monday).
The Great Otome Narrative" is set in Central Asia in the mid-19th century and depicts the "Otome" (beautiful wives) that the English traveler Smith met in various places. In addition to the appealing characters and story, the culture and history of the nomadic and sedentary peoples of Central Asia are vividly depicted in the work, which won the Manga Grand Prize in 2014 and is loved by a wide range of fans.
The exhibition will feature over 100 original drawings by the author Kaoru Mori, mainly color and black-and-white manuscripts. Visitors can experience the trajectory of the main characters and the atmosphere of Central Asia through the beautiful, meticulously drawn, hand-painted illustrations. There is also an admission ticket with goods that includes a flat pouch, a can badge, and a daily name leaflet available only through online sales, so check the official website for details.
