217 restaurants in Kyoto and Uji City
For one month in February each year, this event offers a "special menu" at a "reasonable price including tax and service charge". This year, the event has been extended by two weeks and will be held until March 14. A record 217 restaurants will participate in the event. Popular restaurants from a variety of genres will participate, including Kyoto cuisine, sushi, tempura, French cuisine, ethnic cuisine, and sweets. This year, afternoon tea and bars have been added as new genres.
In addition, as special events, Kyoto Prefecture and Kyoto City will collaborate in the "Proposal of Kyoto's Best Ingredients" to promote the attractiveness of Kyoto's "best ingredients" and agricultural, forestry, and marine products and to hold meetings to propose ingredients; the "Kyoto Meat and Kyoto Pork PR Project" will offer dishes made in collaboration with Kyoto's proud brand of meat and chefs; and "Enjoying Kyoto of the Sea - Obama Yobarai Mackerel" will offer dishes using farmed mackerel mixed with sakekasu made by Kyoto's sake breweries as bait. The "How to Enjoy Kyoto by the Sea - Obama Yobarai Saba" will also be held.
