The historic Kyoto Central Market, established in 1927 as the first market of its kind in Japan, is the only central wholesale market in Kyoto Prefecture that handles fresh fruits, vegetables, and marine products.

In order to make it easier for people all over Japan to experience the appeal of Kyoto's food culture, we have launched a new Internet shopping site, "Kyoto Central Market Selected! We have launched a new online shopping site, "Kyoto City Central Market Selected! This is the first time in Japan that a mail order site fully backed by a public central wholesale market has been launched.

The lineup includes a wide variety of fresh fish carefully selected from all over Japan by wholesalers, salted and dried ingredients such as salted sea bream, sasakarei, and chirimen sansho, all nurtured by Kyoto's history and culture, and homemade saikyo zuke, hamo no tori set, and saba sushi, all prepared by retailers with expert processing techniques. The lineup includes 54 different types of sets at bargain prices (2,700 yen, 5,400 yen, and 10,800 yen [all inclusive of tax]) that can only be found at Kyoto's central wholesale market and that cannot be found at other mail-order sites.
