Strawberries are the fruit in season from winter to spring. Why not taste strawberries to your heart's content?
In this issue, we introduce a collection of recommended strawberry picking spots. We also recommend them for refreshment.

About 56,000 strawberry plants are grown in 21 greenhouses. The high cultivation allows visitors to eat clean and beautiful strawberries with no soil on them. The aisles are wide enough for wheelchairs and strollers to enjoy strawberry picking. There are two types of strawberries, Akihime and Benihoppe.

A strawberry farm with clean air in Uji. Three varieties of strawberries, "Kaorino," "Benihoppe," and "Amaotome," are grown at the farm, so it is recommended to compare them. Free toppings of condensed milk and chocolate spray are available.

This is one of the largest strawberry orchards in Shiga Prefecture, covering approximately 8,500 square meters. The strawberries are grown to bring out their natural sweetness by spraying them with natural Chinese herbal medicine and beer yeast. Visitors can enjoy strawberries on the spot or at tables inside the greenhouses.

The spacious area and wide aisles make it easy for people in wheelchairs or with baby strollers to pass through. The fruit is at about children's eye level, so the soil does not stick to the fruit and clean strawberries can be eaten, and being able to pick them while standing is also popular. Two types of strawberries are available: "Akihime," which is very sweet, and "Benihoppe," which has a perfect balance of sweet and sour. Take-out packages are also available.

This hands-on farm grows seasonal vegetables and fruits on its vast grounds and is located adjacent to Michi-no-Eki Kusatsu. Admission to strawberry picking is free, and since the system is to sell strawberries by weight, visitors can relax and eat them in the garden after picking. This season, the farm is growing four varieties of strawberries, centering on the rare "Hoshi no Kirameki" and the popular "Moikko" every year. The best part is that you can compare the taste of each.
