A special exhibition, "Kodo: Dosho of the Shino School," commemorating the 500th anniversary of the death of Muneyoshi Shino I, is being held at the Hosomi Art Museum from March 4, 2023 (Sat) to May 31, 2023 (Wed).
This exhibition introduces the 500-year lineage of the Shino School of Kodo, the pinnacle of Japanese culture that emerged in the late Muromachi period (1333-1573), and which has been continuously preserved from Muneyoshi Shino, the first headmaster, to Sogen Gyukosai, the 20th headmaster of the current Iemoto School. On the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Hosomi Art Museum, look back on the history of Kodo and enjoy a variety of precious masterpieces of incense and art and crafts related to fragrance.
