Shigeo Kimura, the 9th generation owner of Yakuryutei, located halfway up Mt. Inari, started this cafe with his wife immediately after returning to Japan, inspired by the cafe in Melbourne, Australia, where he spent 18 years. Initially, it was open in a corner of [Yakuryutei], but it gained popularity, and in 2013, [Vermillion-espresso bar & info.] and in 2016, [Vermillion – cafe.] were opened in the area. Locals also frequent the shop in search of authentic espresso coffee and handmade menus made with plenty of Kyoto ingredients.
