A long autumn night spent with handwork and a mug that will lift your spirits
A long autumn night spent with handwork and a mug that will lift your spirits
change of season. It's chilly at night, and it's the season to miss warm drinks.
We will introduce a mug with a rich expression that is unique to the artist's handiwork.
This time of year when we often spend time at home, such as home time and remote work.
Why not bring your own favorite mug that you can use for a long time?
[WATAKAMA] Inspired by shapes found in nature.
The characteristic design that cannot be expressed on a potter's wheel is attractive.
WATAKAMA is a pottery brand created by a couple, Kohei Watabiki and Mayuko.
After the couple had a child, they began to feel that they wanted to make things that they would use themselves, so they started making pottery. I am currently working in Kameoka, Kyoto.
Shaped like a skirt with fluffy frills [skirt]
[skirt] is attractive because it gives a completely different look depending on how the glaze flows.
With a capacity of about 150 to 180 ml, it's a little smaller type, and it's great not only for black coffee, but also for granola and yogurt on the breakfast table.
There are two types of color variations, white [caramel] and transparent [candy]. A mug cup with a charm of handmade taste.
[Hoppe] is attractive for its relaxed and generous form.
This shape is said to be a design that was arrived at after repeated trial and error for a particularly long time among WATAKAMA.
The handle is large and easy to hold, and it holds about 230 to 250 ml, so it is recommended when you want to drink plenty of black coffee, cafe au lait, or hot tea.
I want to use it like a partner without hesitation in the workshop or between work. Please enjoy how the color of the glaze gradually becomes more familiar with each use.
[Taki Tomoda] Cups and saucers from "Kojukei" whose loveliness made the artist fall in love at first sight
After working as a painting craftsman at a Kyo-yaki pottery, Taki Tomoda further learned potter's wheel molding.
He is an artist who is active in a wide range of fields, including exhibiting at special exhibitions in Suzhou, China, as well as in Japan.
Cup & Saucer "Kojukei"
The cute design that makes you feel gentle just by looking at it is said to be a red pheasant (a bird of the pheasant family) that one day, while walking in the mountains, he found it in a signboard introducing wild birds.
Since then, Mr. Tomoda has been unable to forget about this bird, and has become more and more captivated as he researches various things.
From the base material to the painting, he handles all processes by himself, and is involved in the production of tableware, tea ceremony utensils, and objects.
Up until now, she was good at designing elegant flowers, but unlike the flowers she used to draw as patterns, she was able to carefully draw the unique expressions of living creatures.
The yellowish background is painted with unique patterns, colors, and lovely expressions. The curved cup is easy to drink, and the rim is decorated with gold, creating an elegant atmosphere that will gracefully color your tea time.
[Albolceramica] Relaxing mug with handmade taste and personality
Mieko Yagi of Alborceramica, a potter and painter, has been creating a wide variety of pottery according to her interests while painting. Moreover, considering the glaze, he is particular about working on all the production processes of pottery making by himself, such as various moldings such as potter's wheel and casting, and combining painting such as dyeing, overglazing, and gold painting.
bee and bear mug
A cute mug cup with a bear and a bee drawn in iron painting on a plump form.
The rustic texture brings a gentle feeling to coffee time. It's a mug that's perfect for a change of mood, soothing every time you use it.
