From October 1, 2022 (Thu.), an exhibition will be held at the Kyoto Culture Museum, which will use the latest data to uncover the true image of the Shinsengumi.
The Shinsengumi have become the subject of novels and TV dramas and are immensely popular. In recent years, however, historical research has revealed a new image of the Shinsengumi that differs from the one previously held. Many valuable historical documents that trace the footsteps of the Shinsengumi, including Hijikata Toshizo's favorite sword, the Izumimori Kanetada, will be on display.
