From January to March 2025, the destination campaign "Kyoto Winter Journey" will be held to promote the attractions of Kyoto in winter.
The themes of this year's 59th event are "the 30th anniversary of the World Heritage registration" and "the 20th anniversary of the revival of the Rakuyo Sanjusangjo Kannon Sacred Sites". In addition to the World Heritage temples, temples in the "Rakuyo Sanjusangjo Kannon Sacred Sites" will be spotlighted, and various cultural properties that are not normally open to the public, such as gardens, Buddhist statues, sliding door paintings, and architecture, will be on special display for a limited time. The festival also features a variety of special events, such as special courses to visit cultural properties by regular sightseeing buses and cabs, and special experience plans that allow visitors to deeply appreciate Kyoto's unique history and culture.
