At Tango Himonoya in Kyotango City and Maizuru Port Toretore Center in Maizuru City, you can choose your favorite crab from the fish tank and have it cooked. You can also choose how you would like to eat your crab, such as crab sashimi, crab shabu-shabu, grilled crab, or kani-sukiyaki. (For boiled crabs, other cooking methods are not available because the whole crab is boiled.) Ask the pros! Also, check out how to choose the best crab.
Ine Town, located in the northeastern part of Kyotango City, is one of the three major yellowtail fishing grounds in Japan, and although aquaculture used to be very active, production has declined to the point where there are now only two fishermen, including Hashimoto Suisan. The low seawater temperature in Ine Bay allows the fish to grow slowly. This makes the yellowtail tighter, with just the right amount of fat, and tastes light and delicious. In particular, Hashimoto Suisan's cultured yellowtail has a higher reputation than natural yellowtail because of its high quality.
At the tourist exchange facility [Funaya Biyori], which opened in Ine-cho in April 2017, you can enjoy Ine-buri donburi for 2,000 yen on weekdays only from November to March. Try it with a bowl of rice topped with a bowl of buri served with yuzu pepper and salt for a refreshing taste.
The Oji district of Masudome in Kyotango, an area with a long history, is said to be where a heavenly maiden in plumage descended and introduced rice cultivation and sake brewing in ancient times.
The popular campground [Tennyo no Sato] there is also loved by local people as a processing plant for making various preserved foods such as konjac, rice malt, miso, and rice cakes. The konjac making experience available here is simple but actually very deep! It is now the talk of the town.
An ocean view resort with 9 types of unique villas, including Rurihama with a spacious 3LDK layout, Rurihama RETREAT with a private pool terrace overlooking the Miyazu Sea, and the 2F Rurihama calmato calum with two types of guest room hot spring baths and living room with a view.
Two types of hot spring water gush out from the guestrooms: silver hot spring water, which is clear and colorless and is called natural skin lotion, and gold hot spring water, which is red hot water. The gold hot spring water, which is rare in Japan, has a mild, non-irritating feel on the skin. It is said to be rich in iron, which promotes blood circulation and moisturizes the skin.
